His research involved fertility issues in spinal cord injury men. He undertook higher surgical training in London with fellowship in functional and neurourology from UCLH, London where he currently practices. He specialises in conservative and surgical management of bladder dysfunction in both male and females. This includes: urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, bladder pain syndrome and urinary tract infections.
He has particular interest in managing post prostatectomy incontinence in males and is an acknowledged expert in the management of bladder dysfunction after neurological diseases. He undertakes surgical procedures like Botox to bladder, neuromodulation, colposuspension, rectus fascial slings and artificial urinary sphincters.
He has been a principal investigator for a number of clinical trials. He set up and is the principal investigator for a European wide registry for male anti-incontinence surgery. He is the Director of School of Neurourology of International Continence Society. He sits on the Boards of a number of international organisations. This includes Female and Functional sections of the European Association of Urology and the British Association of Urological Surgeons. He is a Board member of the Standardisation and Neurourology Committees of the International Continence Society.
He has been involved in a number of guidelines initiatives including as co-chair for terminology in Neuro-Urology and male surgical procedures. He is also a member of the neuro-urology guidelines panel of the European Association of Urology.
He is heavily involved in teaching and is regularly invited to lecture both nationally and internationally. He is on the teaching faculty of the European School of Urology. He is regularly invited to review articles for a number of urology journals. He is on the Editorial Boards of Neurourology and Urodynamics and Turkish urology journal.
