Mr Rajesh Nair is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust since 2017. He cares for patients with all urological malignancies. His specialist interest areas include open, laparoscopic as well as robot assisted surgery with a particular focus in uro-oncology (kidney, prostate, bladder and testis cancer) and reconstructive urological surgery. He has significant expertise in the investigation and treatment of bladder, kidney and upper tract urothelial cancers. He is also an expert in blue-light (photodynamic) cystoscopy and intravesical (treatment into the bladder) treatment strategies. Rajesh graduated in medicine from University College London (UCL) and then trained as a urological surgeon in the UK. He completed his higher specialist training in urology from the London Deanery where he was awarded the FRCS (Urolorgy) and FEBU (Fellow of the European Board of Urology). He has successfully completed three advanced fellowship training programmes in robotics, uro-oncology and reconstructive urology from St George’s Hospital, Guy’s Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia. Rajesh has a strong interest in academic research and remains committed to surgical education both in the UK and overseas. He has contributed to medical literature with over 40 peer reviewed publications, six book chapters, edited a book and presented in over 120 national and international presentations. Many prominent urological and surgical associations frequently invite him to lecture, present, chair and participate in urological meetings both nationally and internationally.
