Dr Kenneth Wong

Dr Kenneth Wong MA (Oxon), DM (Oxon), FRCP(Lond), FHEA, FESC, FACC is a Consultant Cardiologist in Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust hospital, a regional cardiothoracic centre in NW England, UK. He trained in Oxford. He was a British Heart foundation Clinical research fellow in Scotland (2000-2) where he first developed research interest in hypertension and its consequences, in particular, stroke and heart failure. Following the award of a DM from Oxford and completion of specialist training in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine, he has been a consultant since 2008 and has developed a special interest in heart failure and cardiac imaging. He has more than 110 publications (including peer reviewed original articles, reviews, book chapters, letters and abstracts). He succeeded in obtaining research grants internally as well as externally. He is actively engaged in research. He has been invited to speak in national and international Cardiology meetings. He is accredited by the British Society of Echocardiography and was elected a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (a symbol of excellence), Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He was a course director of the first 5 annual Focused Echocardiography in Emergency Life Support (FEEL-UK) courses when he was a Senior Lecturer in Hull York Medical School and is planning to start running courses here in Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He has enjoyed teaching and inspiring trainees the practicalities of delivering compassionate whole person care. In a recent validated patient survey/360 degree assessment, leading to his revalidation in 2014, 100% of patients would recommend him to their families and friends.
