Professional Profile
Andrew Phillips graduated from University of Bristol in 2005. He initially trained in the South-West before transferring to the East Midlands to complete his basic training. He underwent sub-specialist training in gynaecological oncology at the Pan-Birmingham Gynaecological Cancer Centre, Birmingham before returning to take up a consultant post in Derby.
He has a special interest in cytoreductive surgery in advanced ovarian cancer, minimal access surgery for gynaecological malignancies, risk reduction in patients at an increased risk of developing gynaecological cancer and medical ethics.
His research has focused on quality standards in the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer. He is the lead for gynaecological cancer in the trust.
Married with 3 children, he is a keen climber and surfer - both of which are in short supply in the East Midlands!
